Has anyone heard of this Broadway Play that is going on right now starring Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter). My friend went to see it last week, and was telling me about it. Boy, did it sound strange. He is doing a full frontal nude scene in it, and I looked it up, and they said he was 17 when he started doing that. I didn't think someone that young could do nude scenes. Does anyone know?

Equus is a well know play that has been around for years in different capacities
A minor can do nude scenes with parental consent. Brooke Shields did nude scenes quite often when she was a minor. Thora Birch had a nude scene in "American Beauty" when she was 16 or 17.

I forgot about that(Brooke)...but isn't that still borderline child pornography? Because your parent could be a complete idiot , so why aren't there laws in place for people who have idiots for parents? Brooke Shields mother was a jerk to her, and all she was thinking about was money, I never would have let my kid do that.

The film Brooke appeared in nude when she was underage is considered 'art' and therefore acceptable. To be fair, the film itself is a good (well made) one, and the scene could be cut without harming the film at all, so it isn't like the film was an exploitation movie in that sense. Times have really changed now though, so people's feelings about something like that are different. Back then there was less permanent media than today, so an edgy scene would have stayed where it was intended and wouldn't have been used for other purposes (if you get my meaning). When things like the VCR and other technology that could capture things became widely available then people viewed risque things (especially those involving young people) with more caution.
Equus itself was controversial as both a play and a movie many years ago. I seem to recall the scenes with Peter Firth and Jenny Agutter were very racy for the time. Equus was also considered 'art'. Frankly, the film left me a little cold.
