Does anyone know if the HD cables for the PS3 are the same cables used for hooking up a Blue Ray player to your HD TV? The reason I ask is because there are PS3 HD cables in a discount bin for $6.99...VS... the $40 I paid for the HD cables for my Blue Ray to TV cable. Any thoughts. Thanks.

Kev, HDMI cables for PS3 are the same as the ones to connect to a HD TV. You'll find that there is a wide range in prices - but you pay for what you get. You're best off paying for the most expensive ones you can afford.
Come to my store, and I'll sell you one!!

Stitch, I have been an audio/video guy for years. The difference in quality from a monster HDMI cable and a generic one is very minimal. Normally I buy most of my cables at Home depot... Best buy usually wants your first born for it.

Very little difference of course the salesmen will claim just the opposite. I've had a generic one for 5 months now and it's done just fine. HH Gregg wanted the firstborn and the firstborn's firstborn for theirs.......

So...should I buy the discounted $6.99 PS3 cable and return my $40 HD cable for my Blue Ray? I like the sound of $30 bucks in my pocket....

Funny story. Electricity went last Saturday in our area, and my impatient Father In Law decided to hook up a generator. It was pumping too much power into the house and blue up his brand new Sony Blu Ray player and expensive HD cables.. Luckily the gullable shop assistant believed our crappy story about it just blowin itself up and we got him a new one instead. $500 worth...
