Patrick McGoohan, start of cult 60's tv show "The Prisoner" passed away on Tuesday.
I've been dying to find The Prisoner on DVD. It only ran for 17 episodes, but was way ahead of it's time. His character, known only as "6", was kidnapped and held in a prison resort known as "The Village". Prisoners were regularly drugged, and any escape attempts were thwarted by giant floating bubbles.
The Simpsons did a version of The Prisoner, when Homer became an internet gossip blogger and was kidnapped and held in The Village. McGoohan reprised his role as Number 6 in the episode.
McGoohan also appeared in Braveheart as King Edward (Longshanks), in A Time to Kill as a judge, in Baby: Secret of the lost legend, and in Scanners as Dr Ruth Paul.
