The second young actor to die in the past week. Not a good start to the year for young actors.

I was making dinner when my sister called me and told me this, I was utterly shocked. I loved him in Brokeback Mountain and 10 Things I Hate About You. So shocking and so so sad, especially since he has a small daughter.

This is probably the most shocking news I have heard in a while. I was soo looking forward to seeing him in the Dark Knight. I didn't ever consider that it might be his last film.

RIP Heath...

So sad. They say he did awesome as the Joker. I liked him in The Patriot and Monster's Ball. He was a truly talented actor taken way before his time. RIP Heath.........

Shocking news. Its like 1993 (the year River & Brandon died). Heath Ledger was a decent bloke and quite a good actor, loved his take on Ned Kelly in 'Ned Kelly' & thought he gave good, underrated performances in 'The Sin Eater' & 'The Patriot'.

i was really shocked to hear about his death, i almost didn't believe it and initially wrote it off as one of those internet hoaxes. [Frown]
i am really looking forward to seeing his performance as the JOKER in DARK KNIGHT. looking at the previews... his character was what really made me anticipate going to see the movie.

such sad news... [Frown]

Like many of you, I was also shocked about this.

His suicide scene in "Monster's Ball" now takes a more chilling effect.

I feel more sorry about his kid.

R.I.P., Heath.

I went to Blockbuster the other day and there was a whole wall of movies with Heath and Brad Renfro in it. Now, I understand if they have a big request for the movies and need them to be handy, but I am wondering if they aren't trying to capitalize on the deaths of these actors? Could it be teetering on the edge of disgusting?

Blockbuster (and possibly, Hollywood Video) would not be doing it if they didn't believe a lot of people would now be renting movies that star Brad and (especially) Heath in them. It's a sentimental thing.
