When did you think Madonna sounded and looked her best?
Personally I think her peak was the "Music" era of 2000/2001. The sound of her music was pure pop but was a progression from Ray of Light, and was just what the new Millenium needed. In fact my favorite song of hers, Don't Tell Me, was from this time.
I also think she looked her best ever in the film clip to "Don't tell me". She has a simple look, basic blonde hair, fresh makeup, no surgery (did I say that?)
On a slight tangent, has anyone seen the film clip for the song "Do it with Madonna" by Aussie band The Androids? They sing about how they'd like to be with all the young pop stars (Britney, Pink, Kylie...) but how Madonna would win out coz she's what a woman's a supposed to be! The film clip is hysterical because it uses drag impersonators of Madonna, Kylie, Pink, Christina.... check it out!

The Very Beginning. I like her first album the best and think she looked the best in her Borderline video.

I really liked the Boytoy-Breaker era of the first two albums, but my favorite era is the True Blue-Who's that Girl era where she had the short blonde do, stuff like Who's that Girl, Live to Tell, Open your Heart, La Isla Bonita. There's parts of 1987 that seem just like yesterday for me.

I think she looked her best around 1990 when "Vogue" came out (the Blonde Ambition era), but musically I agree with Stitch that she hit her peak around 2000 with "Ray of Light," which in my mind is her finest song.

Madonna never sounded better than she did on the "Ray of light" track. Those singing lessons for "Evita" really paid off...
