To use a Blu-ray player you just have to have an HD TV, right? I just got an HD TV...I'm not planning on upgrading to Dish HD or anything like that, but I would like to have a Blu-ray player. Does anyone have one? Are they worth the money, and are the Blu-ray discs worth the money?

You can hook a Blu-ray player up to an HDtv without upgrading anything else. I have a PS3 and the picture quality and sound on Blu-ray is incredible in comparison to a standard DVD. You need to know what type of connections your HDtv have on it and then all you need is the Blu-ray player and the cables to connect for the picture quality and a somewhat better sound. To take better advantage of the sound, you should hook the blu-ray player up to at least a 5.1 surround system as well.

I highly recommend the Blu Ray player. Another important thing to remember is how many HDMI connections you have. I bought an HDTV with 3 HDMIs since I have a PS3, Blu Ray DVd player, and Direct TV.
