I was working on party food tonight. It took me hours...to make these bacon potato fritatas...they are awesome, I froze them.

I think this year I have a pretty good menu planned. I have to help my friend with a Halloween party this weekend for kids. We are going to make hot dog mummies, and cut out sandwiches in Halloween shapes.

I am making Ham salad sandwiches and going to cut them in to a Maple Leaf shape for my party.

I was wondering what everyone's favorite sandwich is.

Do you guys like Subway subs?

One year for Halloween we made this giant sub sandwich, and cut it in to sections, and stuck carrot sticks and celery sticks out the sides of the sandwich and made it look like a centipede.

My son loves any kind of sandwich that have Buffalo Chicken in it.

I love sandwiches...we were talking about it over the weekend, about PB and J sandwiches. About how in the Breakfast Club..Brian has the perfect packed lunch. And it was cool to see what everyone ate for lunch in that movie. I loved PB and J when I was a kid ...and for a long time I would not eat the crust either...what was with that?

So another cool question would be....what was your favorite cafeteria meal? My favorite thing to eat at school was Tacos. But, I usually packed my own lunch. Up until I was a senior I ate meat...so I use to always eat pepperoni sandwiches for lunch...there was a kid who sat beside me...that begged me to share my lunch with him...cause he loved pepperoni.

When I was a senior I became a vegetarian...and I actually hardly ate anything back then...except for salads and macaroni and cheese...I did eat grilled cheese sandwiches alot then.

What is also the weirdest thing you ever put in a sandwich?

The weirdest thing I ever ate was...BBQ potato chips and mustard on white bread. It tastes like a crunchy bbq ham sandwich.

The weirdest thing I ever remember anyone ever eating in a sandwich was back in high school, a kid I knew ate peanutbutter and egg salad sandwiches.

Mmmm, fluffernutters!

My fave sandwich is something no one here would have ever tried. Being a proud Australian, I have a severe addiction to Vegemite. I eat it every day. But I love it best in a sandwich with peanut butter. It's salty and sweet and oh so delicious!!!

My partner and I just got back from a late lunch at Subway, I love the sweet onion chicken teriyaki with extra sweet onion sauce, and lots of carrot and capsicum. Sean has a Subway melt, which is hot bacon, cheese, ham and turkey. It's also not very healthy but apparantly quite delicious.

restaurant and order a turkey club sandwich!

My daughter loves SUBWAY but QUIZNOS is sooo much better. SUBWAY is closer to my house though.

Woah, peanut butter an bananas is Elvis territory ain't it? I'm a big Philly steak sandwich fan, but my favorite is the montreal world famous smoke meat sandwich.

I think The King FRYED his. I dont do that. I just put peanut butter on bread (white or whole wheat) top it with bananas and cover with another piece of bread.

Mmmm mmm good!

I think peanut butter is one of the foods I never grew out of. Peanut butter and jelly, peanut butter and FLUFF, peanut butter and bananas...... and all my favorite candies are peanut or peanut buttered based (peanut M&M's, REESES peanut butter cups....)

this restaurant by my house has a sandwich called the "black russian". it's like a rueben. you take two slices of rye bread, load them up with pastrami, cover it with russian dressing and cole slaw, and layered with swiss cheese on top. then bake.

so tasty.

never knew people actaully ate vegemite sandwiches. i thought it was just a line used in the men at work song.

Never heard of a black russian before, maybe the drink White Russian, but interesting dish. Got to love those NY deli places.

They put vegemite on almost everything in Australia, can't say I've tried it yet, but wouldn't mind.

I overdosed on Subway a while ago, but I seem to be into Dagwoods now, something about their sauce that sends me back. Wish there was an Arby's in town, but those left the area ages ago.

My favorite sandwich is the Elwood at the House of Blues...blackened chicken with green chilis and hot mayo. Yummy.

I like Subway but I love Quiznos so much more. I'll eat anything from Quiznos that doesn't have guacamole on it.

Arby's...Lord I love Arby's. The closest one is almost an hour away. I love the beef n cheddar.

I always hated school lunches...I almost always packed in elem. school. Our school used to make yummy peanut butter muffins for breakfast...I loved them.

hehe petty, you gals can have my arby's.. i'm surrounded by them! i don't like their food.

i like going to little deli shops around the valley.. unknown, privately owned places. my favorite kind of sandwich to order from the deli is turkey with provolone cheese..mayo, lots of sliced avocado, lettuce, tomato, salt and pepper.
i'm not really big on subway either, but if i go there, i order the italian BMT with the fixings.

if i make a regular sandwich at home, i like turkey pastrami with havarti cheese and grey poupon spread.
i guess i'm particular [Big Grin]

Not quite everything, but close!

It's great in sandwiches or on toast. Lots of people love it with cheese but I'm not one of those.
The 1 billionth jar of Vegemite is in the stores now, there is a competition for whoever buys the specially marked magical 1 billionth jar. I guess it's a bit like Willy Wonkas gold wrappers. I hope I get it, and I hope the prize is a lifetime supply of vegemite!!
It's also nice to use as a marinade on chicken, just rub some vegemite over a chicken before you roast it, it's delicious.

There is a fun website with different ways to eat vegemite. They are doing a survey to find the most popular ways.

How do you like your vegemite

I live within walking distance of an Arby's, Subway and Quiznos.

But my favourite sandwich from a restaurant is the cajun chicken sandwich at Famous Dave's. You get a tasty marinated chicken breast covered with pepper jack cheese and a ton of onion strings then add some tasty remoulade sauce. Nice big and messy.

I also like the old standby sandwich the cheeseburger

I have several. The first is the Cookout Style Cheeseburger from Cookout. We've only had a Cookout for a year but I'm addicted to them. I'm also a big fan of the Subay Meatball sub. The other would be the pork chop sandwich (we call 'em gut grenades) from Snappy Lunch in the town I grew up in. Everytime I go back home to see my folks I always make a stop there. The 5th pic down is a picture of one. You always have to wait on Saturdays because of the tourists but a professor I had in college that I mentioned the place to ending up vacationing in the town and ate five of them at one setting.....

I use to eat peanutbutter and banana sandwiches when I was a kid...I did try and fry one once, but it was weird.

I made peanutbutter balls today for my Halloween party. They are so good. The center has: Powdered sugar, vanilla, peanutbutter and butter and then you chill that..roll in a ball, then dunk it in melted chocolate and then I stick Halloween sprinkles on them-they always look really pretty.

I like grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce and mayo on a crossiant-that's a great sandwich.

I make those at Christmas and use turkey...and make cranberry mayo.

I love cold turkey sandwiches after Thanksgiving, but I also love hot turkey sandwiches with gravy.

I like tuna salad, egg salad, ham salad and chicken salad.

I rarely ever eat a hamburger or hot dog.

I thin hot dogs are one of my least favorite foods.

I remember back in the late 80's...there was a little deli shop across the street from the Travel Agency I worked at...and it was called "The Lunchbox- all the did was lunch. They made Pita sandwiches...I use to get them all the time...I was still a vegetarian then...they had really good cheese in them...mayo, lettuce, onions, banana peppers and bean sprouts in them...they were awesome.

I am like Ronnie...I don't care much for food chains...I like mom and pop type restaurants, I love diners...one of my favorite shows on TV is : "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives with Guy Ferrati-I love that kind of food. I like things you can't get anywhere else, so everytime we go out of our area...we go to local places that you can't go anywhere else.

That is correct, Elvis loved his peanut butter & banana sandwich on white bread. And the sandwich had to be fried in a skillet with melted butter. He would sometimes put bacon in it too.

No wonder he got so fat when he died!

here's the recipe:

It's a reuben sandwich.

Corned beef, swiss cheese and sauerkraut with 1000 island dressing on either dark or marble rye. I prefer marble rye myself.
