I watched. Palin didn't self implode like many were expecting but I still feel that Biden won the debate handily. Seems like Palin had too much of her responses as being rehearsed and she didn't really answer a single question straightforward. But I'm sure her party is at least pleased she didn't have the deer-in-the-headlights look. But seriously she proved how far behind her knowledge on the issues are compared to Biden.

petty i know what you were doing.. playing with kitties instead of watching the television.. how dare you!!! lol j/k p.s. i want a kitty!
sam, i watched the last 30 mins of it and i have to agree with you. palin wasn't as timid as she's been in her couric interviews. i must admit i thought the portion of the debate i saw went really well.

They said Palin had been in a "debate boot camp" for several days prior to the debate so you can bet her answers were rehearsed. And I'm gonna pull my hair out if I hear another hockey mom reference. If she wins, she's going to be in the second highest ranking position of power in the country. I honestly don't see how anyone could take her seriously given her lack of experience on many issues and all the "you betcha" references she makes. I personally don't feel comfortable voting for someone in this high a position who had to go to debate boot camp days prior. Shouldn't a serious candidate already have that under their belt?

To those who saw the debate last night and lean towards the left should find this hilarious.

That's right! Kitties are so much more fun than politics!

They are still going at it. I don't like either one...every thing they do is just pointing the finger and bad mouthing the other one...instead of tattle telling on each other, just do something and fix it....why can't the presidency be split in to 2 sides...one side works on the stuff that they have the best ideas for, and the other side works on their best strengths...and just fix it. Why should we pick on ecah other ...why can't we work together and fix everything.

Two sides would never work because of egos and one not wanting to succumb to the other's ideas. Man I wish a younger Ross Perot would have came along......

Yeah...well me and you agree on something. I said tonight...I don't even know who is running in the Independant party-but that is what I am registered as...and I'll vote for him...instead of either of these 2. I don't think there has ever been an Independant person win an election...has there?
I voted for Ross Perot...he was the only person that I ever thought made any sense, and I figured he was a billionaire ...he must know a few things, and maybe he could lend the government some money. I liked that he didn't take any campaign money from anyone, he paid for his own time on TV too, so he could say what he wanted. I was pregnant with my son back during that election...and had no clue who Bill Clinton was...but I never thought Bill Clinton was a bad president...he balanced the budget...ever since then we went down hill.
Has anyone seen a increase in crime in their area?
My brother told me 2 banks and 2 convenient stores were robbed in my hometown, and there have been several armed robberies around me...it is scary.
Egomania is going to kill us all...that's what is crazy. If everyone would just quit flappipng their mouths about who's to blame, and get to work on fixing it...that's our only hope.
I absolutely think McCain is right about fixing the whole Housing and Lending mess with Fanny May and Fanny Mac- that is a giant mess.
I think Obama is an arrogant egomaniac. John McCain looks so feeble ...like he's going to fall over at any second...neither one of them have a clue about what's going on, they rambled on and on...Tom Brokaw was going to clobber them both...for not cutting down their responses...I left and came back later...and they were still blaming each other for all the problems going on in the world.

We have had a small increase in crimes here but it can probably be linked to the economy or should I say the lack of an economy.........

Whoever wins needs to seek out Warren Buffett for some serious advice. I'd trust him anyday over anybody.......

Well.....when Obama said Warren Buffet would be a good person for the Treasurer job...and then turned around and said...but there are lots of other people out there too that can do that job ...I thought that wasn't too cool.

Guys - thank your lucky stars and system that you get the chance to vote at all - there's plenty around the world that don't, and millions in the UK right now that would relish the thought of being able to exercise some democratic rights in a week or so.....

This will be the first presidential election in quite sometime where my vote will actually be going for a candidate instead of it going against a candidate

The more I hear about any of these people, the more I can't stand them. I just saw tonight...pictures of Sarah Palin, with a dead Caribou, that she shot. That was just what I wanted to see. A beautiful animal, laying in a puddle of blood... they say she's an avid hunter...what a great soccer mom.

When we have election debates here, we have what's called "The Worm" - a little graphic that scrawls across the screen showing how the live audience approves or disapproves of the speaker and their policies.
Most people watching the debate on TV tend to watch the worm more than the debate itself, and to be honest there is never a whole lot said during debates anyway.

While I don't plan to vote for McCain/Palin, what's wrong with a soccer mom whose also a hunter? Is there some cookie cutout soccer moms are supposed to be or do you expect her to stay at home baking brownies all day and taking the kids to and fro practice? I remember a friend of mine's mom who would take us to and fro soccer practice. Her hubby and her would go on these huge hunting trips to Canada several times a year and even went on an African safari once. Did that make her less of a person? That's sort of judgmental. Just my 2 cents.....

Yes, she is a self-proclaimed "hockey mom".
Perhaps Alaska is too cold for young kids to play soccer?

Ya know, here in the South, people hunt a lot. And think of the old days, when you had to hunt and grow your food and you didn't eat. The least of my concerns are that Sarah Palin hunts. Or that she's a hockey/soccer/football/basketball/whatever mom.
