I have always been a huge fan of Paul Newman and respected his acting abilites. He made his biggest mark in the 50's, 60's, and 70's, but 80's fans knew him well from movies like Fort Apache the Bronx (1981), Absence of Malice (1981), The Verdict (1982) and of course The Color of Money (1986).
Hollywood has lost a true acting icon in my opinion.

Wow right before I went to bed last night I watched "Cool Hand Luke" and I was thinking last I heard that Paul Newman wasn't in the best of health and now to wake up and find out he died is just a little creepy.
Truly a giant of the industry has been taken away from us.

Sad news, always liked him, heck I even bought his salad dressing shich was pretty good. He had some great roles in his career, loved him in Cool Hand Luke, Color of Money, and of course Slapshot. I actually work with a guy who looks so much like him that I am reminded daily of Paul. Great actor. RIP.

this is a real loss. and it has nothing to do with how great an actor he was. he donated almost 200 million to charities through his newmans brand, he started up a camp for children with cancer, he absolutely shunned the hollywood lifestyle, and was faithfully married to his wife for 50 years. and that's just the things we know about him.
the world could use a lot more paul newmans.
