I’m looking to get back into some good shooters, but I’m a little out of the loop these days. Used to play a ton of Call of Duty and Battlefield, but haven’t really kept up with what’s new. What’s worth playing these days? Anything you’ve been hooked on recently?
Also, about CS:GO – I’ve tried it a couple of times, but never really stuck with it. Is it still worth diving into now, or am I too late to the party? Is it as tough for a newbie as everyone says?
Would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions! Thanks!

After spending years glued to CoD and Battlefield, I fell off the radar a bit and didn’t know what shooters were actually worth my time. A few months ago, a buddy who’s all about the competitive side of gaming told me I had to check out CS:GO. At first, I wasn’t convinced – I mean, the game is so old, right? But then I read up on the roles in the game, like what each position actually brings to the table. It turns out there’s a ton of depth in CS:GO that I didn’t expect. Another time, a different friend, one who’s super into tactical shooters, pointed out how CS:GO encourages team play more than any other shooter. After a while, I got completely hooked! Now, to answer your question about whether it’s too late to jump in: not at all! Just read https://daddyskins.com/blog/counterpedia/csgo-roles/ to get the basics of your future efficient play. So, to answer your question from earlier: don’t stress about being "late." The game’s not going anywhere, and the more you play, the more you’ll find ways to contribute in unique, unexpected ways.
