Just planning my next trip to The US and this time we are going to do 4 weeks on the West Coast. I plan to start in Seattle and travel down the coast with some detours, these will include 80s iconic movie locations.
I've got a few places already planned, I have to be careful not to make it a tour of movie locations as my wife and grandson aren't interested in most of them.
Goonies - Cannon Beach Goonies - Goat Rock State Beach BTTF - Puente Hill Mall (Twin Pines Mall) BTTF - 9303 Roslyndale Ave, Pacoima (McFly home 1955) Commando - Matrix log cabin 1 Arrowrock Rd, Mt Baldy Top Gun - Top Gun bar scene Kansas City Barbeque, San Diego
Any other ideas, obviously the film studio tours?

This is awesome Hoff. I will offer up some sites to see. I will start in northern Oregon. A beautiful 600 foot waterfall called Multnomah Falls. Go east from Portland along the Columbia River. I believe Theres 8 lighthouses on the Oregon coast. Heceta Head is a must see and Yaquina head lighthouse (dont get mixed up with Yaquina bay lighthouse). Both are cool Yaquina head is on the ocean and is a beautiful site.
Also Battery Point lighthouse in California but close to the Oregon border is excellent. Watch the tide or you'll have to walk back thru knee deep ocean.
And the redwoods. There are 2 that you can drive thru. At least we could in 2004.

Thank you very much TerdNthePoolGGB, those sites look amazing, added them to my list.
The Redwood tree you can drive through seems awesome, I had a Jeep Grand Wagoneer in Florida I don't think that would fit through it 😀

Perhaps not theHoff. I drove a mini van through both of em. Funny thing is we almost didn't go thru one of them coz a family in front of us didn't seem to care that other people were there waiting for them to take a million pics with their car under tree. Lol
Id go by Hamilton's house too Pittsburgh girl.
Also, if you're going to Cannon Beach, Ecola state park is right by it. This is where the boys rode their bikes to the fratellis hideout was(it was just built for the movie and isn't there anymore). You can see the lighthouse and view of Cannon Beach from here.

I’m trying to think of some others, but I’m from the Eastern part of the U.S. If I think of anything, I will definitely post it here. The Fast Times House popped into my head, because I remembered it went up for sale a few years ago.
