Just got bustin loose on dvd starring Richard pryor through in the post, never seen it before but it was going for really cheap so I thought I'd pick up a copy and give it a go.
I like a lot of Pryors movies so I'm hoping this is another one of his that I enjoy!

Dogs in space with Michael hutchence, curious as to what that is like,I've heard quite a few good things about it.
That looks pretty cool as well midnight spares with Bruce Spence in it.
Straight away when ever you see him instantly the gyro captain pops in to your head.

I bought a DVD of the Jaws sequels. It doesn't have the first one, just the sequels. I don't think I'll be watching the 4th one, though.

I would not recommend the 4th one I actually made the mistake of buying that DVD set for my brother. I thought it was the first 3 and my brother was like, "Gee, thanks for buying me all of the worst Jaws movies."

Why don't people like Jaws 2 and Jaws 3? Is the acting thought to be bad, or the story, or what? I thought they were good. Somebody please tell me what they think.

Just scooped Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome on Blu-ray. Up to my old tricks again...out to get some groceries...came home with a movie slightly hidden among two loaves of bread...quick transition to the top of my pile....blends in perfectly!! Wife will ask at some point...where did this come from....my staple answer...I bought that long ago!!

It's hard to put a finger on but the first one is much more suspenseful. It's eerie even when the shark is not around. The second just seems to consist of a shark going around and chomping on the locals and don't get me started about the scene where the shark eats the helicopter. The shark in the 3rd one looks diabolically fake especially when they have a tracking shot of it coming towards the glass. The 4th one is plagued by bad acting, bad story, cardboard shark etc...Mind you I can still kinda sit through 2 and 3 but 4 is a definite no no.
My main point though was that both my brother and I would have preferred to have gotten the first 3 rather than the last 3.
If you enjoy them that's great! What do others think about 2 and 3? I know some people actually prefer 2 to the original. I don't know how but hey it's all a matter of personal taste. Does anyone prefer 3 to the original? Please don't tell me that anyone prefers 4 to the original....please
Let's get some other takes on 2 and 3.

I had a bit of a nose around my town centre of Canterbury this afternoon and went into poundland and picked these up for 1 pound each (it wouldn't be poundland otherwise ) so to put that into perspective for all you people across the seas it's about the same or cheaper than a 2 pint of milk here in the UK!
I picked up stolen hearts aka two if by sea with Sandra bullock and Denis Leary, family business with Connery,Hoffman and Matthew Broderick and death sentence starring Kevin bacon.
Also picked up two Belinda Carlisle CDs that I have purchased already many years back but for the life of me can not find.
I have watched all three films before but can remember next to nothing from them but I thought for just a single pound each even if I don't like them it's not such an issue as if I was paying full price!
It states that the DVDs were pre owned but every single DVD and case was in immaculate condition which I was pleased about.

I smiled when I read your post, YW, because it took me a few seconds to realize that your "Poundland" stores are similar to "Dollar General" stores in Pennsylvania.

Warrior. My question is...why did that go on for 3 minutes+. Geez, I vote for procreation screenings from here on out. BTW. I love the DG and their $5 off coupons

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking terdnthepoolggb how comes it was allowed to go on for as long as it did,I know you've got to be careful when it comes to restraining a minor but surely someone could have acted quicker than what they did.
5 dollar off coupons - sounds good to me!
We've got quite a few off these budget stores pop up over here in the UK over the last few years since the economy went down the pan and it seems to be having quite a knock on effect with the larger superstores with some of them having to make cut backs but at least one advantage from it all is it keeps prices competitive.

Yeah, got that one, not bad. My favourites are Husk, Rogue River and Scream Of the Banshee. Should avoid Hybrid like the plague tho.

Yeah husk that's another one that's pretty decent, the corn fields make for a pretty cool setting.
Never seen hybrid and it sounds like I should probably keep it that way!

Funny/disturbing video. Those Dollar General stores do all have fairly narrow aisles for some reason--and the same crap that you see in the video.

here's a few that i've picked up over the last month or so
pleased with picking up the omen trilogy blu ray for just £6.99 which i think is a decent bargain as i really like the original as well as damien omen 2 which i also think is great,i don't dislike part 3 either though i will admit it's definitely the weakest of the three.

Brewster's Millions is a classic! I have seen the original Omen which is great but can't remember if I have seen the sequels? Are they any good?

i've always thought the second part - damien the omen 2 was really well shot and even though it may not quite hold up to the original it's not a million miles off.
jonathan scott taylor is really great in the role of the devil child damien and it's got a really solid cast including william holden, lee grant and the ever excellent lance henriksen.
for a sequel bernie it's pretty good stuff, part 3 is weak by comparison but still worth checking out!

bernie the pet sematary blu ray is an australian import and one thing i can't get over is how ridicously large your age certificates are on the covers,do you think that they think that you're all short sighted or something
saying that all our releases now carry both the uk age certificate as well as ireland's age certificate as seen on the omen boxset so they also stick out like a sore thumb!
