Has anyone seen the new JC Penney back to school commercial? It is an updated take on "The Breakfast Club", with reenactments of famous scenes from the movie set to a hip version of "Don't You Forget About Me." The school is even called Shermer High.
I actually thought it was a cool approach.

I didn't like it....at first I thought they remade the movie...and I thought..Oh No...they couldn't have....then it turned in to the commercial.
I liked that they tried to redo that movie...because of course everything about that movie is cool...but none of the kids in the commercial came close to the originals.
All it did was make me miss the original people, and realize that JCPenney's makes horrible clothes for teens.

I haven't seen the commercial, but I'm guessing that ad agency writer grew up during the 80's, and wanted to share his/her memories of the movie.
