i plan to watch as many christmas theme movies that i can this year before the day, i am going to include black christmas into the mix, so as long as it is christmas themed anyone have any recomendations for other films like this, could be comedic, dramatic , action packed, or horrific, or all four at the same time! But i think black christmas is a good start and i will start this very day.
its one a day every day, join in on the yuletide cheer!

Here's one that no one ever seems to mention as a Christmas film, but it is: "Comfort and Joy" (1984). I think that it is one of Bill Forsythe's best films.

OMG!!!!I love Christmas movies. No time to formulate a list right now, but soon to follow. Sadly, or happily (depending on how you process this information)...I have over 100 Christmas movies on DVD!!!! I also have over 100 TV Christmas episodes from all my favorite TV shows....I've already started to watch the TV shows, but no movies yet. Christmas spirit seems to be in the air a bit early this year....I need to move fast forward with my house renos before I can even think about a Christmas decoration!

TGP...yep...I have Ernest Saves Christmas! I've been looking at all Christmas movies recently in stores, however, can't seem to find one that I want and/or don't have. Kind of a habbit, buying Christmas movies this time of year), and I'm going through a bit of withdrawl as I continue to search....I may have to break down and buy a crappy one just to apease this urge....maybe......."Jingle All The Way"!!!

Scanning through my collection, my favs are:
1. It's A Wonderful Life - possibly my all time fav movie ever. I usually save this until the end....Dec 23 or so.
2. An American Christmas Carol - not the best rendition I know, but I grew up on this one and watch it every year...come on....the Fonz as Scrooge...what's not to like?! * FYI - this little sucker is hard to find on DVD....quite pricey on ebay.
3. A Muppet Family Christmas - I was a greedy bugger a few years back and scooped five of these DVDs at a discount store for $5 each and sold them on ebay for $40-$50 a piece....except the one I kept of course! Hope there wasn't a little kid in the store looking for this one....I even had to push an old lady out of the way to get them!
4. One Magic Christmas - Sappy yes, but one of my favs nonetheless!
5. Noel - With Robin Williams, Susan Sarandon, Paul Walker, etc....happened on this by chance a few years back....one of the best Christmas movies released in recent years. If you haven't seen this....please do......
6. A Charlie Brown Christmas - Self explainitory!!
7. Fat Albert's Christmas Special - can't get enough of these guys...when I watch any Fat Albert episode, it's very nostalgic for me....
8. Surviving Christmas - not much love for this one, but I actually really like it....hey gimmie a break....Helen likes Jingle All The way!
9. Christmas Eve On Sesame Street - I would only share this with my Rewind friends....bought this for my little guy a few years back and while watching it, he quickly fell asleep....me and my wife watched it to the end. I don't recall seeing this as a kid, but agian, very nostalgic and makes me feel oooey goooey.....
10. Christmas Vacation - again, a no-brainer, though one small problem...
*I aim to replace my copy this year and get rid of this crappy cardboard cover!
* special mention - The Bear Who Slept Through Christmas....a great movie for your little ones or the young at heart.
* One last thing....I ask every year if anyone knows about a movie I've been searching for..."The Little Match Girl", I think from the late 70's...not animation. Used to watch a certain version as a kid and remember loving it, but can't seem to find any information anywhere. Some research points to a young Sarah Jessica Parker in the starring role, but can't find it to confirm if it's the one I've been searching for for many years. Any ideas?
