I haven't mentioned this lately, but it is quite known that the Rewind gets tons of visitors and several people that join just to ask about a movie title from the past. Then after a couple of visits or postings, they vanish back to the future forever.
However, occasionally there are a lucky few that stick around and slowly absorb the magic of the 80's Rewind. This doesn't happen overnight though.. I once did a chart about Rewind progression with regard to number posts in correlation with Rewind obsession that explained it much better..
But the rule of thumb is at about 200 postings a member starts to develop strong friendships with other Rewinders and checking the messageboard on a frequent basis becomes a must. Basically, at that point you know you've found a place with people that will always be important to you.
Over the years, you will go through phases of how much you contribute to threads or even visit the board, but eventually you will return and realize how much you enjoy chatting with other folks that have a common interest in the 80's.
So with all that said.. let's welcome Veronica Sawyer, Bamersy, Earl Keese, Mike, Saturnchick, JCWBobC, gordongecko and anyone else that understands my thread.. to the over 200 posts club!
Oh and you are now eligible to request a Rewind Title to be added to your screenname by Paul. It is a very cool aspect to The Rewind .. however I must warn that Paul likes to add words like "allegedly" to your request..

And I agree about the privelage of earning a Rewind Title.... Just remember to "Play it Loud, Play it Proud!"

Thanks for the shout out Valley! I've been posting and visiting regularly for about 8 or 9 months now, and in that time I have had so much fun talking with everyone and watching so many awesome movies that I probably never would have known about if it weren't for this site. I have to say that everyone has always been really sweet and respectful to me, which I guess is a rare thing when it comes to online forums.
I need to start thinking about my title! Any suggestions?

Thanks for the mention Valley, and you are so right about the way people post on here.Although it has taken me a long time to reach the amount of posts on here,i do check back a lot more than i ever did. Of course sometimes it's just good to read what other people have to say about a film before you view and afterwards see how much you agreed or not. Long may this site continue to be a haven for us 80's movie lovers.

Great thread valley. I use to think i was the only one who had such an obsession with anything 80s but now i see i am amongst people who are just as out there as i am. With much sincerity id like to add that i am just in awe of the knowledge that people have. Logan, atomik, valley, muffy, TKO, secret, veronica, to name just a few absolutely have me dumb founded again and again. The knowledge thats inside your heads leaves me feeling like a little kid not knowing a thing about 80s movies. Its so great to read what you all have to say. Im just in complete awe and admirationfor what you contribute on here. None of it possible without Paul...AWSOME, just AWSOME!

Cool. Have been super busy and nice to stop by and find this. I was going to post a topic asking how the hierarchy around here works. I was secretly relieved to no longer be "curious"
Will ponder a title for a bit.

OK - so it's not that much power, but don't deny me the only chance I get to wield it!
Anyone who would like a custom title, PM me - either with a title suggestion or (like I did with Logan5) I'll just make one up if you can't think of one........

It's worth mentioning something else - little idea that just came to me......
From now on, I will give custom titles to you..... IF you have a Site Contribution to your name. Basically, go to the main site (www.fast-rewind.com) and look at some movie pages. There's plenty there, and you get a Site Contribution award when you add a bit of information about a movie which we don't already have. This can be trivia, goods, filming locations, soundtrack info, or even a review of a movie we don't currently cover.
Once Nick has put it up on the site, you get the acknowledgement here. Then pm me with the request and I'll do the custom title work for ya!
How does that sound?
Paul

That is a great idea Paul. Here's another: Make a small donation to The Rewind and become a "Site Sponsor" to show Nick all the appreciation we have for his hard work to this wonderful place.

Yet another great idea, and a timely excuse for me to shamelessly plug the site and remind everyone that nobody gets paid, and there are no adverts, pop-ups, sponsorship etc - this site is run purely voluntarily, and Nick pays for everything.
If you really do love this site, and want it to remain as it is - free and without any corporate influence - then why not take a quick look here: http://www.fast-rewind.com/supportus.htm and think about how you can help support Fast Rewind - the greatest 80s movie site online......

Guys I absolutely love this site, me and my friends have been living in our own '80s dreamed up reality here in Ireland since our teens, and having a site like this, with top forums, threads, references, and most of all cool '80s loving people makes that reality all the more real !!!
It's hard to find people, as I'm sure you all know, with the same level of appreciation, and passion for the '80s! Common interests, like you say Valley, are key! And I've certainly found them here, thanks. And thanks Nick for the great site, Paul, Devo and everyone else that makes this site happen!
I was also thinking, you know with a 9000+ strong member list here, has anyone ever mulled over the idea of an '80s convention??
An annual event run by this site, where we invite old '80s actors, musicians to signings, where hard-core '80s fans trade vintage t-shirts, memorabilia / collectibles, talk '80s movies, and music, karaoke, live music / band... '80s dress up, an '80s hairdresser stand, I'm sure there's endless ideas in this... but you know an annual event would just be so great for members of this site to meet up once a year, hear our stories, share our interests etc..
We could get sponsorship / funding from the studios and distributors of '80s dvd titles and music, as dvds and music could be on sale, advertising revenues etc, and donations from fans.
In any case, it would obviously need a committed and dedicated steering group/committee to get it up and running... and tonnes and tonnes of effort... but the end result... tonnes and tonnes of '80s fun!!!
Any thoughts or ideas?
