Has anyone read this, the latest Stephen King novel? It's a real beauty but massive - my copy is just under 1000 pages.
It would make a great movie too. The basic premise is that a small town (pop 2000) is one day suddenly seperated from the world by a mysterious invisible dome. People are trapped inside and out, and small town politics leads to human rights atrocities, dictatorship ambitions and mob violence.
Another Stephen King novel that would make a fantastic movie is Cell. It's about a mobile phone virus that simultaneously calls all mobiles (cells for those in America) and sends a signal into the brain that basically turns everyone who answered into a violent zombie. As the survivors rally together, they notice that the "zombies" are working together, that they have a "hive mind" and that the survivors are now being hunted.

I read about 1/4 of it but just couldn't get into it.
