I'm psyched to see this. Caught me a bit by surprise with Dakota Fanning as Cherrie Currie and Kirsten Stewart as Joan Jett but I've heard good things about it.

I'm in as well. I thought Stewart was a great choice for Joan Jett...don't know enough about Cherrie Currie to yay or nay Dakota Fanning....

May turn out ok. Problem is, two of the original Runaway's aren't in the movie!

the movie itself, is just ok. it did have some funny moments, so i did like it. the performances are what made it. kristen was awesome as joan and same goes for dakota but liked kristen a lot more. it's loaded with bad language, drug use and a lot of making out (as you know, between joan and cherie).

I knew going into this movie that this was going to be a way more "grown up" role for Dakota Fanning, but I kept thinking that the drug use/sex etc, would be toned down considering her age...but I was definitely wrong! Dakota did not hold back at all. However, I didn't find the movie to be exploitative or anything...it was tastefully done.
I thought Kristen Stewart was good, but I was more impressed with Michael Shannon as Kim Fowley. There were a couple parts where I thought Kristen was trying too hard (the bathtub scene especially). The movie is also surprisingly really funny! You can't help but laugh during Cherie's talent show performance.
I loved the way the movie was shot, especially the whole "Cherry Bomb" sequence. Overall, I thought it was a great movie and the soundtrack is pretty awesome too.

Yeah, I'll check this one out when I can. Joan Jett was an exectutive producer on the film, so hopefully she helped things along.
