Just got back from seeing this comedic masterpiece starring Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr. Tom Cruise suprisingly enough even turned in a funny performance.
P.S. Look for the Booty Sweat energy drink commercial at the front along with several fake previews for movies.......

I was reading about this movie in Entertainment Weekly. It sounds funny...Ben Stiller movies usually are, for the most part. And, hey, if Tom Cruise can actually pull off a decent performance, then this I gotta see!

What? Tom Cruise is in this one? I presume that this is a cameo appearance (Just like he did for the third Austin Powers movie, "Goldmember"?)

NowhereGirl, that is cool that you got a sneak peak at "Tropical Thunder". Stiller is usually too over the top for me, but this movie actually looks funny. And Tom Cruise is suppose to be great in it.
Pettyfan, I've enjoyed Entertainment Magazine for years. Have you seen this yet:

Apparently the movie has generated some controversy as well. They are trying to say a certain part of the movie makes fun of mentally challenged people. Personally, I didn't find it offensive. What did ya think of Tom Cruise and the rap music NowhereGirl lol? Matthew McConaughey (sp) was in it as well. He played the part originally intended for Owen Wilson but Wilson backed out due to that suicide attempt......

No subscription for me...I only buy them occasionally, when I find a store that has them, like Borders.

it was brilliant motley. hahaha, i laughed consistantly throughout this movie. my favorite scenes were with cruise and downey jr.
i know all about the controversy for it. some people want to boycott for the use of the word 'retard'.. others are boycotting because cruise = scientology.. and others because of downey's character = blackface.
having already seen the movie, what do you think motley?

I thought it was the funniest movie I'd saw in the theaters in years. That scene where they have Jack Black tied to the tree and he describes what he'll do if they let him loose make me spew drink all over the place. I actually enjoyed Tom Cruise and that's rare. Not a big fan of Ben Stiller but I knew I'd like Downey Jr. and Black. What did you think of Toby McGuire and Downey Jr. at the first? That had me in stitches too. I didn't think the controversy was that big a deal. Your always gonna offend some group no matter what kind of movie ya do. Some people are born to boycott and picket........
