When I start posting on these movies in about three months please be kind and give me your thoughts after the dust has settled. You see I seldom go to the cinemas anymore because I prefer to wait for Blu-ray to watch movies in the comfort of my own theater room. I know there is a lot of chatter in the 00's, so I'll eventually make it here.
Anyone else on delay with me?

I'm always on delay as well. I will wait for movies to go to DVD or cable before I watch them (unless I absolutely HAVE to see it now.) I hate going to theaters for several reasons:
1)The prices for everything. 2)I like laying down when I watch TV or movies. 3)Bathroom breaks(don't want to miss anything.) 4)I know this is a pathetic reason, but I am a smoker and the 2-3 hours is brutal on me. 5)It's just more enjoyable for me to watch a movie in the comfort of home.

Nah if it's something I wanna see and don't wanna deal with the chatter I just go an odd time of the day on an off day of the week. Why wait if it's a great movie........

...Apart from the good movies being released all the time, and the fact that if you wait too long, you get told what happens in the movie so nothing is a surprise any more, of course....

Yeah they may as well have stopped making movies after 1989 cause everything released since then has been horrible.....

While I don't necessarily agree that all new movies are horrible, I will say that the reason I'm here is because the decade of the 80's is my fav for movies and music for that matter. My list of favs from the 00's is quite short in comparison.
Paul, makes a great point about risking finding out details about the movie before the DVDs are released. But that waiting period also gets rid of most of the false hype that almost every movie carries with it on release. That way I don't waste my cash for DVDs that were all hype and very little substance. Oh, I still watch them...it's just called Starz and Encore!

yup. i pretty much always go at a time when i know there aren't too many other people around. FYI AMC theaters charge 5 bucks a movie, before noon on weekends,.. that's always good. my b/f and i are movie watchers, we enjoy going out, seeing movies..grabbing a bite afterwards.. it gets us out of the house! it would be nice to have my own theater type set-up at home, but i'm not there yet .

I will go and watch some of the big event movies at the cinemas, but I'm so spoiled by having my own theater room, I'm usually disappointed. They did just open a theater near my house with VIP seating. Kind of a dinner and a movie type of deal.
Ronnie as much as you love movies a theater room definitely needs to be on your list. Think Scooby on the big screen. Ha
