Ah, Noms, I think it's just a feeling that many of us get about sequels that shouldn't happen. I am curious about the movie, but I understand totally not wanting to see a movie. It happens. It's just an opinion. Just as yours was. I know you know that.

Well noms my thread was first but anyway..... Like Devo said that is my opinion. The original was one of my favorite films...ever! There is only one person from the original that even made it into the film so that is another reason I dont want to see it. Also Im sick of studios looking to make a buck because they have no original ideas of their own, so they basically remake a classic or make a sequel just for cash. Its quantity not quality for them. That disgusts me.
I saw the trailer and it seemed like they copied the first except they changed the character of michael to a girl. She gets tricked into drinking blood just like michael did. I already saw that movie so why would I want to see a lame version of the same film??
Anyway, I dont always hate sequels just ones that seem to be cheap versions of the originals, but I am curious to find out more about the supposed remake of Near Dark. It looks like its filming has been halted, but I hear a new script and cast is in the works.

Just got this one from Netflix. I'll post what I think of it after watching it as I choose to watch something before making a judgment call......

Well.....in a few weeks me and Cindymancini will be at The Lost Boys Reunion....and we are going to meet the cast of the first movie...so I am so excited about that. The Lost Boys was one of my favorites too, I love the original. Without Jason Patric, Diane Weist, Keifer Sunderland, and Grandpa ...then there's no way it can even be called a Sequel. They only take the basic concept of the originals...and use the name to draw in people....and hope that their updated version will sucker in new people.
I can never understand how people who say they LOVE 80's movies...can watch a new movie like this one...and not see the HUGE difference in them, and why they don't see that today's movies stink...and why people who love the originals say please don't mess with my favorite movies.
That boggles my mind.
I understand not prejuding the movie...but they have repeatedly ruined sequels so badly....and the previews to a movie are suppose to be the cool parts of the movie-to draw you in to see the movie...
If the previews stink...that's where I know that I don't need to waste my time on the whole movie...what would be the point.

If you think I am a Troll, and that nobody should respond to things I say....or when someone else says something like Ali just did...then why are you always the first person to jump in and comment to tell other people not to comment...don't you think that everyone else on here can read and is old enough to know wether they want to respond to a topic or not?
I think it is very insulting to have someone keep preaching to everyone to not comment on a topic.
If people don't want to respond...then they sure won't...they don't have to be told not to.
