Good movie, entertaining in its own right, the 2002 version does some parts better whereas this improves upon other aspects. In terms of its approach to the origin, the first one was better IMO but I'd still recommend this to all Spidey fans. Well acted, directed, good pace, decent 3D effects.

maybe this new spidey series will produce a good venom this time, they really blew it on the third. how did anyone expect that guy to be able to play a character like eddie brock?

It was OK, but I couldn't see how people have said it's so much better than the Sam Raimi films. Sure they let themselves down at the end, but overall they were great fun.
This was pretty much on a par with the first two movies of the previous incarnation.
One gripe was that, whilst I watched it in 2D (3D tends to give me headaches) it was obvious how often they tried to shoe-horn a particular shot in just because it would 'look cool in 3D'. Just make the frigging movie, guys, and let the 3D take care of itself - otherwise you losde something of the movie's charm. 3D should never be the justification for a particular scene.
