IMAX and Warner Bros. Pictures announced recently that "Rock of Ages", based on the hit Broadway musical, will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX® format and released for a limited engagement in select IMAX® theatres on June 15, 2012.
The film stars Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand, Mary J. Blige, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Alec Baldwin.
"Rock of Ages" tells the story of small town girl Sherrie and city boy Drew, who meet on the Sunset Strip while pursuing their Hollywood dreams. Their rock ‘n’ roll romance is told through the heart-pounding covers of the hits of Def Leppard, Joan Jett, Journey, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Whitesnake, and many more.
The list of tunes is available on the internet with exactly who sings on each tune, but I decided not to post it on here since it might spoil things for some folks.
I'm not sure what to really expect especially since my only knowledge of Tom Cruise singing is "Top Gun" , but I'm totally interested in watching and listening to this film as an IMAX® experience.
Who else is planning on going to see this movie?

I haven't been overly impressed with the trailer commercials, but I finally saw one this weekend that makes me want to go see this movie fer shure now.
Of course, as you know despite all the bad publicity over the last several years.. I'm still a huge Tom Cruise fan. Just that pic above reminds me that he is willing to go to extremes to get into a role.
Like Ronnie, I hope it's good. What time we going?
June 15th IMAX® .. be there!

i don't dislike tom cruise either,my fave cruise movie is risky business, but i also really enjoyed the likes of legend, days of thunder and jerry maguire .
still got to check out all the right moves at some point, never seen it before and i've got a gut feeling i'd really like it.

Ok I'll admit it, I went to see this (Mrs Noms talked me into it).
Better than I anticipated to be honest and Tom Cruise was actually pretty decent in it.
The male and female leads were pretty throw away and I wasn't sold on the relationship between Brand and Baldwin (I'm not homophobic, it just didn't really make sense in the context of the movie).
The music was awesome obviously and the fashion and attitude was cool but I won't be watching again any time soon.

I liked the outfits.. and though a lot of people were pretty impressed with Cruise, I thought his scenes were a bit boring but oh well. Loved the music, and the silliness of the movie.
Will own it!

And some people believe this was 80's Heavy Metal. Sad.
