I was just watching the trailer for the new "First" Holloween movie, now while the mask is the same and it probably has more than its fair share of scares, my question is: What on earth are they thinking about? Is this a redo a la "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"? I don't know my feelings on this. I don't know what I would do if they decided to recreate Friday the 13th or A Nightmare on Elm St. with new main characters? I think I am at a loss. Or is this something to see. Man, I'm confused.

rob zombie wanted to make this movie (a classic IMO), but also as sort of a prequel, if you will. i have been following this, and waiting for over a year now.. i want to see his creation. i think there are a lot of halloween fans that are eagerly awaiting this movie, just to see how zombie did. i'm all for it, and if it's no good.. ah well.

Maybe they will remake all the sequels too!
I didn't realize this was getting remade until I saw the trailer a couple days ago, and I wasn't sure what to make of it myself. There sure are a lot of remakes lately

Funny you say this Devo...I watched the trailer on YouTube a week ago and I thought it looked rather scary but I didn't like that the original music wasn't used, at least in the clip I viewed. Furthermore, I read some comments by other viewers and posters on IMDB and one person said, "Why is it that the mask in the new Halloween actually looks more like the one Leatherface wore in Texas Chainsaw Massacre?" Good questions...all of them.
I will see the new Halloween just because the novelty of going to see a horror movie (that I'm actually interested in) in theaters is a rare occurrance. We shall see...

Well, I might wait until it comes on DVD; I'd be more comfortable watching a slasher flick in my lighted, busy house, than in a dark movie theater...
The reason I might see it is because, while I generally avoid films of the "slasher" sub-genre, my favorite actor plays Dr. Loomis, & I usually don't avoid any movie that has his name in it.

We went and saw this tonight and I must say I was impressed with Zombie's work. Some parts were changed, but overall I liked it...

Finally saw Zombie's version of Halloween last night and I was quite impressed! Actualy, I thought it was awesome and BETTER, yes BETTER than the original. The first hour was pure genius about the boy Myers and how he became the ruthless killer. I highly recommend.
