I saw Hairspray last night and it was such a fun movie!

I even liked it better than the original...however, it did have a bit too much John Travolta...

but the cast was great [Smile] was this remake based off the orginal broadway musical? it seems like it was.

anyway, hope you check it out!!!!

and yes, ricki lake has a cameo [Wink]

I don't know, I liked the first one, I don't know because my feelings on remakes are always very iffy.

Oh well, maybe, but more likely maybe not.

I actually liked John Travolta in this one. This is one of the first movies in a long time where I enjoyed watching him, or her in this case! HA

Kids in the audience loved it. I have seen the original one but I don't remember that much about it. I would like to see it again and compare it to this one. Oh and look out Zac Efron, I think he may be the next Travolta.

Well, I've put a mini-review of it on certain websites I have. I might have to tell you all the details later, but for now, I will say that I was not the least bit disappointed, I loved it to pieces, John Travolta's performance was magnificent, & I agree with NowhereGirl that Zac Efron was too cute & also did a marvelous job. [Smile]

I loved it too (and, yes, I hate remakes). It really outshined the original....which I really didnt like that much.

And I was one of those "I Hate Zac Efron" People....but I must say he was great in HAIRSPRAY (2007)
