I did, but don't remember much. Pheiffer was in jail for something? Can't recall much if it's even the movie I think.

Yeah...I read the synopsis and it said that she kills a man by poisoning him with her favorite flower, and she goes to jail...and her daughter is left to kind of survive on her own, and it sounds like she has a rough life, but she keeps in touch with her mom in jail....it does not sound like a very uplifting movie, but it sounded interesting...so I didn't know if it was worth checking out.

It isn't a very uplifting movie. I always thought it was good though. It was interesting to see how Astrid (Pheiffers daughter) changed according to her surroundings. And how her mother continued to make life hard for her without even being there.

The book is much better. The movie is just eh- okay. You just get a better idea of how Astrid's brain works, she's always conniving and controlling. I thought that movie should have been made about my mother.
