Maybe its cuz Im getting OLD, I really have a desire to see holiday movies even if I know they are going to be terrible (example- everyone says that one with Danny Devito and Matthew Broderick was terrible but I like them both and really feel like renting it). the other day I caught BAD SANTA on COMEDY CENTRAL (I mention it was on COMEDY CENTRAL just to let everyone know it was edited and censored.... I normally wouldnt watch BAD SANTA with my kid in the room but since it was edited we both watched it and both got a few good laughs out of it. It was better than I thought it would be (and John Ritter had a small part in it and I was happy to see him. My husband didn't realize he - or Bernie Mac who was also in the movie - had recently passed away).
FOUR CHRSIMASES actually looks funny and I like Vince Vaughn (although FRED CLAUS was dreadful!)....Im just waiting to hear if people give it a good review before I agree to go see it.

I know how you feel. I get into ALL of the christmas movies this time of year. It's amazing how many made-for-TV Christmas movies there are.
Here are two channels that are showing a bunch now:
- ABC Family channel - The Hallmark channel has Christmas shows on every night.
What other channels do you guys watch Christmas movies on?
- jdocster ...hohoho

You know what I love? Its one of those family channels, cant remember which one? Where they do like The 12 Days Of Christmas and they play all those specials, especially teh RANKIN BASS ones like Rudolph and Nestor! I used to tape those. I have some of the RANKIN BASS specials on DVD but some arent ON DVD yet, dammit!

I love the Christmas one with the Abominable Snowman (The Bouncing Bumble)...I loved those when I was a kid.
I get in the mood to watch anything that has a Christmas tree in it. Like...While you were Sleeping", Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, Home Alone, Gremlins, and Prancer and even About Last night has a tree in it.
Has anyone seen Mr. Magorium's Wonder Imporium? I bought it on DVD at Blockbusters for $5, but I haven't been able to bring myself to watch it, but I always liked Dustin Hoffman (I should have added him on my favorite actors list)...and I like Jason Bateman.
We actually might go see Four Christmases this weekend. It's the kind of humor that my husband and son find to be hysterical.
I just love going out around Christmas, and doing anything.
Yesterday we went to lunch, and we had candy cane ice cream. I love doing anything Christmas related.

I loved Four Christmases. I highly recommend it, it is the first movie in years that I would pay to go see again. I thought it was really funny. I couldn't believe it, but Colleen Camp (from Valley Girl) was in it...so was Carol Kane-they only had a few lines in the movie, but it was cool to see people that I haven't seen in anything for a long time.
Tim McGraw is one of Vince Vaughn's brothers-I barely recognized him. Sissy Spacek plays Vince's mother. Robert Duvall plays his father. Mary Steenbergen is Reese's mom. Her Dad is John Voight. Dwight Yoakam is in it too. I can't believe how old he looks.
Has anyone else seen it yet?

Do you have anything good to say about anyone over the age of 40? I think Dwight Yokum is a good actor, and he was the only country singer in the early to mid 90's that I could handle hearing on the jukebox at the Club.

I didn't say anything bad about any of those people-and they are all over 40. I said Dwight looks old...that isn't bad- he is old.

I'm a Vince Vaughn fan so I'll see it for the humour, Reese Witherspoon is quite good too. Is there any vintage Vice Vaughn humour i.e. like 'Swingers' or 'Wedding Crashers'?

I never saw any of the other things Vince Vaughn has ever been in...the only things I remember him from were...Jurassic Park 3, and Domestic Disturbance. So...he really wasn't funny in either of those things...so I wasn't familiar with him at all. But, I thought he was hysterical in this. He just rambles on and on...it was so funny.
The movie that I love that Reese Witherspoon started out in is: The Man in the Moon- I haven't seen it in a long time, and it was pretty sad...but I remember really liking her in it.

Witherspoon did a movie with Wahlberg that was very good. I can't remember the name of it. She also did Pleasantville with Toby Maguire which was excellent.

I liked it too...probably not as much as Cndymancini did though. There were times in that movie that Reese actually looked like Cindymancini.

I didn't think it was boring. I thought it was just like what real life is like...not mine personally...but just how they went through the day going from house to house, and the different stuff that happened at each one. It seems like everyone lives are so disfunctional. I do know someone who is exactly like Robert Duvall's character.

I hear ya. I just thought from what I saw in the commercials, it would be funnier. They could have given Duvall's character more meat as well. But hey, the popcorn and coke were really good!

I actually thought it was better than the previews. In the previews I thought it was stupid. Like I felt you had to see the whole scene with the baby to appreciate her being thrown up on.
Just like...his brothers jumping on him...I felt like that looked stupid in the preview but when they kept doing it in the whole movie, it was funny.
The scene I liked was when they were playing Taboo, because we did that last New Year's Eve, and my one friend's daughter kept taking the buzzer and buzzing everyone in the face with it...and my mom was on the verge of strangling her...my mom finally left the room, she couldn't take it. I just looked at my mom on that scene, and we laughed.
I like the scene in the "Jump Jump"...those kids were such brats....I like when Reese tore in to them..and started body checking them.
