Has anyone seen this movie? It came on late last night, and I decided to start watching it. I actually was liking it, but I fell asleep for about 15 minutes at the end...right when everything was going to come together. I want to watch it again, because I woke up ...and from what I saw at the end...I was so confused. I need some questions answered. I was hoping to watch it again...or someone tell me what I missed.

Derailed is a great movie. I've watched it more than once. Definitely watch the whole thing. You won't be disappointed (I think so anyway ).

I looked at all the spoilers....just to see if what I was seeing at the end was what I actually saw.
*****SPOLIER ALERT*****
How many people were in on scamming the guy?
How did they know he had any money...he wasn't some rich dude.
Was the guy he worked with involved too...the one he dumped in the water? Was he actually alive? Was that all staged?
There were some stupid parts....who gives someone $20,000 to not tell his wife that he didn't actually have sex with someone else, but they almost did...and he got hit on the head, mugged and the girl was raped by someone else.
I would tell in a heart beat...because he really didn't do anything wrong.
Then...what kind of blackmailer speaks fluent french and comes across as a high class executive...if that guy was some trashy low life-like he seemed to be, he couldn't have pulled that off...Clive Owen was pretty stupid. But...I did kind of like the movie.
I am no fan of Jennifer Aniston....but she was ok in this.
So...I am hoping it will play on TV again soon, so I can watch it from beginning to end.

1. Jennifer Aniston, the French guy, and the black guy.
2. They didn't know if he had money so they asked for a small amount to see if he will pay anything. If he does they go for more because by then he is so far in they figure he'll just pay them to go away.
3. The guy he worked with was going to try to scare the French guy into leaving Clive Owen alone but he got shot in the head by the French guy. Clive Owen had to dump the body so he wouldn't get caught in a car with a dead body.
4. He lied to his wife about where he was, he was in a hotel room with another woman with the intention of having sex with her, and he had to lay there while Jennifer Aniston got raped, at least that's what he thought was happening. Guilt was a maor factor in his paying the money.
Even though I'm not a women I would think his wife would consider it just as bad as if he actually did have sex with her. I know if my wife told me that story that's how I would react. Don't know if you're married but how do you think your husband or boyfriend would react?
The reason the French guy acted like a businessman was so he could get into Clive Owen's house to show him that his family wasn't safe.
I've seen it a few times but other than the acting, which is great, the movie itself isn't very good in my opinion.

This movie was pretty good, Clive Owen reminds me a bit of Nic Cage, Jenn Aniston in a nice break away from tose sweetheart roles, and nice seeing hip hop vets Xzibit and the RZA.

So, when the guy got shot in the head and then dumped...that was real? He was actually dead?
I feel asleep just when everything was coming together, and then I woke up...and I thought I saw that guy get shot again at the end...was I hallucinating?
Was the french guy and Jennifer Aniston ...were they boyfriend and girlfriend?
I really have no clue how I would react in a situation like that....no affair is worth someone dying over....so I would handle the truth much better than if someone threatened to kill my husband...then if the bad guy was blackmailing my husband that he'd kill me or my kid...well then he better tell me...because at that point...you have much more to worry about than an affair.

Yeah, he did. She just got that job and was only a temp, so nobody there really knew too much about her personal life. She just pretended to be a big executive there, but was really just a secretary.

Ok....so when she met him on the train, was he just a random person?? How would she know that he would forget his money...and she has to pay for his ticket? That's how they meet...did she just follow him everywhere...waiting for him to do something that she could start talking to him about?

Maybe you should just watch it again instead of asking so many questions on here about it...

Not sure about this one. It's been a while since I saw it. Either way would fit fine in the plot.

I do plan on watching it again...if it ever is on TV. I don't think I'd want to buy it, and I honestly think that renting movies is a total waste.
P.S.-If you have not seen the movie...then I am not talking to you.

Why can't private messages be sent back and forth rather than typing spoiler/spoiler alert right after what's already been typed? It's sort of hard to avoid reading it when it when something you've been reading goes directly into it. It's like that time I asked Noms about Hanc o c k and asked him to send me a private message about it so it wouldn't ruin it for everyone else who planned to see it. It really boils down to common courtesy......

No offense but do we really need to put spoiler alerts for a movie that is 3+ years old?
I can understand a movie that just came out and people might not have gotten to the theater yet or a TV show that people might have taped from the night before but not watched yet but a movie from 2005 needs spoiler alerts?

Agatha Christie listed as one of her primary rules for good mystery writing that the conspiracy must make complete sense when revisited again from the beginning. Characters who are revealed to be working in collusion at the end should behave appropriately earlier in the story and plot twists should never be elaborate for the sake of being elaborate. Derailed doesn't explicitly follow those rules, so it falls short, imo.

Yeah like really...about the spoiler alerts- which I did do...but don't read this thread if it has no interest to you...I can not stand it when people tell others what they can and can not write about on here...if I wanted to send a PM about this movie, I think by now I know how to.

Not until after you'd started typing. The last bit was a thing called sarcasm. Monday's discussion will be on courtesy.........
