Whatever you want to call it....he was a freakin' genius playing the part.

That's the case with all movies that were based on books....the book will always be better because your imagination paints your own picture of what you are reading.

Yeah, I think a lot of these issues plaguing Isis and others would be clearer if they were more familiar with Cormac McCarthy's writing. He's big on bleak tones and characters being resigned to their fates. Anyone else read The Road? It's being made into a movie with Viggo Mortensen playing the father. John Hillcoat is directing, which seems like a perfect fit considering that he made the excellent, and equally bleak, Western, The Proposition. I'm really looking forward to seeing it. The book was a brilliant piece of literary minimalism. I couldn't get it out of my head for a long time after reading it.

No Country for Old Men was an awesome movie. I also have to admit that prior to this thread there were bits and pieces that I didn't fully understand. I will certainly give it a second viewing.
A bit uncertain about the sequel though.

Based on your experiences NOMS, would you consider the killer to be a psychopath or sociopath? My aunt is a clinical psychologist and upon watching the movie she said she felt he was a definite sociopath.....
P.S. Glad you liked the movie.......

Yup. Definite sociopath in my opinion also.
Brilliant acting by someone who claims to abhor violence...
