I was trying to think of the name earlier...it was like a child's computer, and there were these plastic cards you stuck in the "computer" and you could do different stuff with them, like spelling, math, etc. Anyone remember what I'm talking about?

I'm kind of reminded of the old Playskool Computer Robot Toy called "Alphie". I had one as a kid and it sounds kind of like what you describe, not sure if it's what you're looking for though. It could be the "Speak N' Spell" Ronnie mentioned too, but I don't recall those using removable cards.?.
Here's a pic of the "Alphie" toy if it helps at all.

everytime you would get something wrong it would say: no try again
it had a hangman game on it and a card that played the happy birthday song.

I thought it might've been the talking wiz kid, but I looked it up and it's not. Mine was smaller, a little bigger than the speak and spell. I know it wasn't an Alphie. I didn't have one of those.

i had an alphie. i think that was an updated alphie. the one i had had holes in the middle of the cards. i stuck my fingers through those holes and had to get the cards cut off. i suppose that's why they redesigned the toy because other kids did the same thing
