I bought the first Season of fraggle Rock for my neice for Christmas this year.
I love the intro.
I had asked in Wal-Mart about it...and this guy working there...said he never heard of it....and I said...it was made in the 80's...like over 20 years ago...he said so was he...he was only 20.

I remember Fraggle rock it is ace. I Had the slippers of the dude with purple hair that runs along the cave entrance almost at beginning of the intro.
I am 25 and can sort of remember it well. i don't know what has happend to tv for children these days it's awful. I loved shows like that when I was a kid.

I would strongly advise getting all the season sets (the combined set for the 4th and 5th seasons hits stores in September). Apart from having all the episodes in pristine condition, they have interviews with pretty much everyone still alive (Gerry Parks has an amusing anecdote about how a young boy once shouted him down in a restaurant after an episode in which he berated Sprocket aired), many of whom have information to tell that even hardcore fans could never have guessed (who would have wagered for example that the Trash Heap was originally intended for Sesame Street a good 5 years before FR premiered?). Not to mention international Traveling Matt segments, the official music video to his theme song heard in later seasons during the postcard scenes, the 1987 behind the scenes documentary hosted by Jim Henson that ran on HBO, vintage HBO show promos and contests, a copy of the pitch booklet and production drawings, and countless other items. Well worth whatever the cost might be.
Back on the intro, how many of you knew they actually shot all 5 Fraggles uttering the final "Down at Fraggle Rock" line at the end of the song before they decided on giving it to Boober? (definitely a wise choice; his flat, uninspired delivery is the perfect joke to the otherwise high energy piece). During the initial run, a couple of the alternate versions popped up on air from time to time (Wembley's on The Terrible Tunnel, Gobo's on The Finger of Light), although the DVDs replace them with the standard Boober version.
There's also several unexplained parts we may never know but are interesting to contemplate nonetheless, such as what exactly Doc's putting together when the camera goes into his workshop, where Gobo was coming from when the camera catches up with him and why he then goes off into the Gorg's Garden for apparently no reason whatsoever (and why isn't he killed after Ma slaps him away in terror; that collission with the rim of the well before he falls back down into the Fraggle pond would seem pretty fatal even by Muppet standards).

I loved Fraggle Rock. I came across a 2 episode combo several years back on DVD that came out before the release of any seasons on DVD. I tried to get my son to watch it but he wasn't very interested in it. It is a shame because I think I am going to have to buy them for myself to sit down and watch.

Fraggle Rock is awesome!!!!! I bought season 1 a few months ago because it used to be one of my favorite tv shows. I remember it used to be on HBO...anyway, I was babysitting my 6 year old niece and made her watch it. She loved it!!
"Dance your cares away, worries for another da-a-ay, let the music play. Down to Fraggle Rock!" Love that song!
