The last few remind me of the SKECHERS shoes my daughter and her friends all wear: believe me - were I a little younger I'd be wearing them too! (They look like the VANS Spicolli wore in FAST TIMES and they "bungee cords" on the instead of laces so all you have to do is slip your foot in, no tying:

I think sketchers are cute too. They are kind of a cross between those chinese ballet slippers/vans/ and jelly shoes.
I hate flip flops....but I do like the looks of some of the sandals that are coming back in style...they look like the old style of Dr. Scholls.

I love flip flops.....but first week of June and I find myslef standing in the tub three times a day scraping my black feet!
The other day we went in the 99 cent store and they STILL sell those black Chinese slippers we all used to wear as kids!!! (The ones that looks like a cloth version of a "Mary Jane"! Every girl in my class had those....and I remember those things had absolutely no arch support so they would kill your feet!
I sometimes see the jelly shoes...but I dont know any kids who wear them. (another cute but uncomfortable shoe!)
Have you seen the new variation of "the Chinese slipper"? They are backless now and usually have like sparkly stuff on top. Those are a big hit this year with the kids I know: they have them at the 99 cent store for about a buck and change and so the kids have them in every color!
CONVERSE is also very popular too! I still wear black CHUCK TAYLORS (lets face it, they are NEVER going out of style!) I remember in the '80s having blue ones, red ones, pink ones....they are making a big comeback with young kids...they also make a low top version that looks like a CONVERSE version of a KEDS slip-on.

You can still get them through wwww.finishline.com
I have not seen those chinese slippers in years...I know what you mean though about the new version. They killed my feet too back then. I wore high heels all the time in the 80's. Either high heel pumps or high heel boots...I loved them.
I am still looking for a pair of denim boots I had from the 80's...they were my favorite shoes...I had 2 pair of them. I can't believe I threw them out.

My wife, Tawny, had some unopened Nike running shoes from 1981 in her closet she recently brought out to wear. They are light blue, and she looks so cool in them... Kind of like a cast member from Fame.

I'm a guy, and remember "Zips" tennis shoes - the TV commercial implied that you would run faster by wearing them. False advertising there, but as a little kid I may not have known better - LOL.
