I know it was British because London was used as a setting each time. At any rate, these aired on Nickelodeon throughout the late 80s and early 90s. The protagonist was an English country type--Marvin was his name, I believe--who would at times of crime crisis in the capital go to a secret lair hidden inside a tree in his yard (often on the pretext of telling his wife he was going shopping) and head out with a trio of robots. The big one could change shapes into things like a rocket, a truck, and a carousel, the medium-sized one was your typical analytical robot, and the small one features interchangeable wrenches and other tools on the sides of its head. Does this ring a bell for anyone?
