The Message by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five
one of my favourite Police songs but I'm going with the old school rap song. That's back when rap was cool and this song is one of the building blocks for the genre.

You're killing me with this one. My response will be.......TBA. I'm undecided at the moment. No joke. Or maybe a tie.

Absopositively 'The Message' by Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five.
It was the first rap single I bought and I spent hours trying to decipher the lyrics till I knew them by heart.

Like xchazx, I can't go against The Police - even though GMF&F5 is a superb track, and probably my favorite 80s rap song.
But Message in a Bottle is just brilliant, as is all their early stuff. Their first three albums are well worth getting, simply because if you only know the single releases, you miss out on so many great album tracks.
