She has a great voice. I think she's related to Whitney Houston...

Can anyone think of any artists similar to her. I dig Whitney Houston she is cool. She has a wonderful voice.

What do people think to 'don't you want me' tho. I think it is a really uplifting song and full of energy. The beat in her songs remind me a little of Shelia E because they are strong and powerful like Shelia E's drum playing for Prince.

I loved her..."Don't You Want Me"....is one of my favorite songs of the 80's. Me and one of my guy friends use to listen to her cassette with that song on it...we loved that song.

I also love the song
"Everything".

Anyone familiar with the stuff Jody did with her first group Shalamar? I picked up a cd of theirs today and am going to listen to it tonight.

Yes I am. I have a Cd of theirs to and I love it. I like Dancing in the sheets alot and Make this a night to rememeber.....and the list goes on.

I love Jody Watley. Her Album self titled is worth getting if you like Shalamar. It's the kind of album you can put on and just leave. The songs on the album have very strong beats and the songs are very catchy. Anyone else own a copy of that record????

The songs of Jody's I remember the most are Looking for a new love, and Friends, the video of which gave me first exposure with his cameo of Rakim, one of the best rappers of all time.

I listened to Shalimar last night, I could definetly hear Jody on a lot of the songs as lead or backup. Even for the early 80's, the group's sound is still in the grip of disco. I need a greatest hits to give a full assessment.

Yer I have one of their greatest hits albums and its really good because it gives you an idea of the groups changing stlye, over the years.

I think the album is called dancing in the sheets. Its black and ity has a picture of the three of them on the front cover. It's worth getting.

One of the other members, jeffrey Daniel, is credited with teaching Michael Jackson how to moonwalk....

I thought Turbo (Boogaloo Shrimp)from "Breakin" was the guy who thought up the moonwalk.

Nope. Jeffrey Daniel. Look him up on Youtube - they were doing it way before Breakin came out.

It's way more likely Turbo saw him and decided to copy the move.
