I think The Killers (not a fan here)sound alot like the 80s with their heavy use of synths.......

Check out "End of Fashion" - they reference the 80s but also write awesome original material.

I find Ladytron write really good 80's influenced material. On album number 4, can't wait to see them again.
The Faint have been doing the synth pop for a while, so have the Rapture.

I know I already posted about this group, but I had to throw the name out there one more time! They create a sound called the "Future Sound of the Past" and isn't that exactly what we're all trying to find here? I know I am...
I urge everyone to check them out. This is not my band so this is not a shameless plug! Future Cop is just great 80's music that I want everyone to know about. To me they are the ultimate 80's soundtrack if every 80's movie was mashed up into 1
