Are there any that really creep you out? A lot of Madonna's tunes from the period get to me, especially Live to Tell with its haunting lyrics and those apocalyptic bells after the verses (even more ominous during the mid-song interlude when they're rung slower and deeper). Air Supply's Sweet Dreams is also pretty high on the frightening list, with the opening riffs in particular suggesting a decent to Hell.

The bell tolling at the beginning of AC/DCs Back In Black. When I first heard it I found it kind of creepy. Simply because of Bon Scotts passing.

It's the Police's "Mother" from their Synchronicity album. Guitarist Andy Summers sings on it, instead of Sting. Try listening to it more than once, and it will make you run away!

If you want scary stuff to listen to,check out DIAMANDA GALAS -the divine punishment. Now that takes some listening to. Not for the clearly religious...you may be a tad offended

Great topic! There was some creepy music for sure in the 80's. Some were dark bands like Cure, Joy Division, Virgin Prunes and Bauhaus, but some just had weird intro's and interludes in normal 80's pop stuff. The intro of Cyndi Lauper's She bop with the whistling is kind of creepy, the middle interlude of Depeche Mode's the Landscape is changing is creepy too. These songs are high on the Creepy level.

It's actually at the beginning of Hells Bells.

You're both right. Its from the album BACK IN BLACK and the song Hell's Bells.

The only one that comes to mind at the moment is..."Cry, Little Sister" from the Lost Boys movie. First time I heard it, I had shivers running up & down my spine. Literally.

Gosh its weird seein songs being mentioned as kinda scary, that i was always listenin to on a daily basis in a happy, play em all the time way.And then going out and dancing to them as well. I was a goth you see.hehe Thats why the only songs i can think of that could even be remotely classed as creepy was Diamanda Galas. Goth stuff could be moody but always ever so brilliant. The Sisters Of Mercy song AFTERHOURS to some may be creepy....but its sheer late night sleeze and excellence.

Im not sure if this ones Late 70s or Early 80s: BLOODROCKs D.O.A. about the guy dying after a plane crash. Brrrrr! Totally freaky.
And the VANILLA FUDGE version of Season Of The Witch (not 80s though) was sorta creepy.
