I cleaned out one of my file cabinets over the weekend and found a bunch of mix tapes. On one of them it had the Glenn Medeiros song "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love." I always loved that song. He didn't have a lot of hits--he had that one, and a song with Bobby Brown, "The Girl Ain't Worth It." I had one of his tapes, but I don't know what happened to it. So did anyone else like him?

It's kind of like remembering Boris Gardener. Damn my recall.

He did "I want to wake up with you" which was a UK #1 in the 80's - really quite dreadful. It was like someone had managed to invent a reggae dirge and then get the world's flatest tone vocalist to sing it.

That name sounds awfully familiar, but I can't place him for the life of me........

Oh I remember him alright - I HATED that song!
However, I do have a hilarious memory of Mr Medeiros, courtesy of a long forgotten UK music show. It was one of "Juke Box Jury" type affairs, with a panel of celebrities, passing judgement on the latest pop videos.
Glenn's video was shown, and the panel proceeded to rip it apart for the utterly wimpy pile of cr*p it was. The presenter (Jools Holland possibly?) then had to face the cringing embarrasment of having to unveil the show's "mystery" guest from behind the curtain.......Glenn Medeiros!!!
The look of despair on everyones face was priceless!!!

Yes, Glenn Medeiros, it's been so long when that song dropped. I remember bailing at the high school dances when the soft stuff like this came on. I file it next to my Gerardo tracks.

I would have just loved to have seen the reaction Gerardo got in the street after all this time, like if I had a dollar for the amount of people he probably had to say that he refers to his name being Gerardo and not Rico Suave.

I think that the only song I remember that he did was Nothings Gonna Change My Love For You. Did he even have anything else in the US that was popular??

Yep, Glenn had a collaboration track with whacked out Bobby Brown called She ain't worth it in the late 80's. In fact I think I still have the cassette single.
