I'm posting this in here coz she was a backup singer for Michael Jackson in the 80's, but obviously she's become a massive star during the 90's and Naughties.
I have to say she is my all time favorite artist, I listen to at least one of her albums every week and I'm listening to one right now, the self titled album from 1996.
It's probably my favorite album of hers, it definately pushes some sonic boundaries - there are sounds in those songs that I'd never heard before!
I'm so much of a fan actually that when I die I want two of her songs to play at my funeral (which is going to be a fun occasion - I don't want anyone to be all miserable!). I want "All I wanna do (is have some fun)" and "Every day is a winding road". "All I wanna do" sums me up perfectly, and "Winding Road" I think is a great song for the occasion coz no matter what happens you gotta keep going down that winding road even if people fall by the wayside!
I just love her lyrics, they really mean a lot to me. Like me, Sheryl Crow has suffered depression and a lot of her lyrics speak to that, especially the song "Weather Channel", boy did that song change my life. But she also has fun lyrics, like in "Soak up the sun" -
"I'm gonna soak up the sun While it's still free I'm gonna soak up the sun Before it goes out on me Don't have no master suite I'm still the king of me You have a fancy ride, but baby I'm the one who has the key"
If I could be granted one wish, it would be to see Sheryl live in concert.
PS, I'm glad to hear she's recovering so well from cancer.

I'm not a big Sheryl Crow fan. That being said, I do love the song she has with Sting, "Always on Your Side." I think it's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I'm glad she's recovering well, too.

On the Wildflower album, "Always on your side" is not a duet. I found the duet version with Sting on iTunes and you're right, it is a very beautiful song. The Wildflower album was inspired by her relationship with Lance Armstrong - it's unfortunate that they broke up not long after it's release.

I've never been a fan of her music although I really do admire her for the way she held up in her battle with cancer and breakup with Lance Armstrong......

there are only 2 songs i like by crow - strong enough & my favorite mistake (i think that's the title).
i will admit that i haven't heard every song she's done. but out of all the singles she's released from her albums, i don't care for the majority of them.
ok, i knew her and lance are done, but i didn't know she had cancer?????
