The first one I heard was "Mama I'm Comin' Home" around 1992. Even though I didn't like heavy metal much, if at all, I actually dug that one. It's more of a dark/pop power ballad still in his style, but different enough to appeal to non metalheads too.
Since then, I've gotten more familiar with his career. It seems most people prefer the Randy Rhoades albums. While I've nothing but good things to say about him, I personally always (slightly) preferred his more "80s" stuff later in the decade.

My favorites are CRAZY TRAIN and GOODBYE TO ROMANCE. I like the RANDY RHOADS stuff thee best.
