He's releasing an album called "Portrait" that features classic songs, including "Vincent", "Can't help falling in love with you", "What the world needs now" and "Where do I begin?"
Let's hope it works for him, afterall the same concept has worked for Rod Stewart and Carly Simon.

Wow, so Rick Astley is back. I remember his other comeback in the early 90's, when he grew his hair longer, and the music was less produced and more laidback. I think he said in the early days he was merely a puppet of the Stock, Aitken & Waterman production team. He always had a soulful voice, he probably should have been doing soul all along. I woud rather hear him covering this type of music than Michael Bolton.

When I was in high school, the rumour was that if you played a Kylie Minogue record at 33.3, you ended up with Rick Astley's voice.

Rick Ghastly, oops, I meant, Astley is recording old classic songs? That is a sure sign that he is no longer hip anymore and have become an old fart! (think: Rod Stewart, Carly Simon, and Linda Ronstadt).

NOW come on guys you know he is awesome! I love his songs and definately his voice! You have to admit that you have been given a gift from God if you are born with pipes like that!
I wonder how he will sound today?? I mean will he have 80s tones to his music or has he abandoned them all together?? It will be interesting to see. When is the album supposed to be released here in the US?? Does anyone know?

I always thought that his voice and the way he looked simply did not match at all. Not that I liked either... But anyway, it's going to be interesting!
