For as long as I can remember this song has made me cry. (so does BILLY OCEAN's SUDDENLY).

A lot of people were put off by the video in which teacher Richie stalked a cute blind student...but I even liked that! (And cryed at the end where she shows him the ugly "bust"!)

I'm listening to LIONEL's GREATEST HITS right now. The weird thing is I've been playing all my CDs in alphabetical order, so before this was LINKIN PARK!!!

Anyone else wanna admit to loving Hello? Or talking about your fave LIONEL RICHIE songs? Don't be scared: For a mellow fellow Lionel kicks major butt!!!!

I always did like Lionel Richie.

I have been to one of his concerts and when he sang my favourite song " Lady" i cried, I always cry when I hear that song.

Just like " You are the Sun you are the Rain" makes me feel good when I hear it.

Well, I know what I will do tonight, get my Lionel Richie CD´s and my Commodores LP´s out and listen to some good music!

I love "You are"...that is one of my favorites.

I love when he was with the Commodores...one of my favorites was "Sail On".

There is something about the song "Hello" that gets on my last nerve. I guess cause he says it over, and over again.

There is a song called "Telephone" by ELO...and there is something about the beginning of that song...where they sing "Hello" that reminds me of Lionel Richie's.

I have always loved "All Night Long", and "Running with the Night-is really an 80's song that just takes me back.

I do like a bit of Lionel myself - particularly "All Night Long".

....and the afro he had in The Commodores was a thing of great beauty [Big Grin]

"Hello" has gained popularity again since it was in The 40-Year Old Virgin. If anything "Truly" by Lionel Richie makes me ball. I loved that album that Truly and You are were on. I remember laying out listening to my headphones listening to that cassette.

"Endless Love" also is a sad one. Oh idea popped up....go to 80s movies....

You Are is great...and it's not on his Greatest hits compilation! (Wonder why).

Actually, tehre are quite a few weepies on his albums...I remember once I had a fight with my husband and just played the Lionel Richie CD and cryed my head off.

Actually "You Are" is on the Definitive Collection. The one that isn't that surprises me is "My Love," which has a great late Commodore period sound to it. My favorite, though, by a moderate margin, remains "Say You, Say Me."

It was called "I've Never Been To Me" and it was performed by Charlene. Although I've never heard the song, I do my research.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff

Hey Mamamia, I have long been a closet Lionel Richie fan...Hello was one of my fave songs in the world back in Jr high....Chuck Rose was the guy I sort of "dedicated" it to, as it were. Then I found out he gave my friend drugs and I hated him after that. But I digress.

My all time fave Richie song is deffo "You Are". I love the melody...the song reminds me of summer for some reason.
