We were just talking about Come On Eileen being the only hit DEXY'S MIDNIGHT RUNNERS had. It got me to thinking: Did anyone have the whole album? And what else was on there?
I also remember once a friend asked me to pick up the NENA album. I'm in the USA...when I got to the "record store" they only had the 45 single. To this day I'm not sure anyone ever had the whole NENA album.

I dont know about that...but I do remember Katrina And The Waves had a follow-up video....so there must have been at least two songs on that album!

Ok, all your questions answered. Um, Dexy was a one hit wonder in the States, but in England they had other hits like Geno. The album in itself is considered a classic. I think a recent edition has bonus tracks. Also, I have the english versionof that Nena album, and there is some good stuff on it, one friend even thought it was Blondie when I was playing it. Katrina and the Waves had two albums I think. They also had some catchy songs in sort of a 60's melodic style. As for Eddy Grant, he had a few hits as well after electric avenue, like Romancing the Stone, Boys in the Street and the comeback single Gimme Hope Jo'Anna. Musical Youth had two albums as well, and there were other decent songs on there besides Pass the Dutchy. So pretty all the bands named aren't exactly filler bands. I actually want to try and compose a list of 80' groups who had one or two hits and give the groups a rating as to wether seek out their albums. I am one of these completists I guess who feels it necessary to find the full albums by groups like Q-Feel, Baltimora, Eurogliders, the Raveups, XOXO, FELONY etc. It''s basically a hit or miss affair, as some groups have only one good song and the rest is filler like Endgames, Eurogliders, but you do get some pleasant surpises like Red Rockers, Romeo Void, Rational Youth, B-movie, Fad Gadget, Lords of the New Church.

Ok, I admit it.. I still have the whole album 'Killer On The Rampage' on cassette. It was ok, but not great. For as far as I know, it also didn't produce any other hits than Electric Avenue and I don't Wanna Dance.

I reckon if you took that image of Kevin Rowland, and stuck it on a picture of The Levellers, in place of the singer - nobody would notice the difference!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...now that you mention it I do seem to remember them singing that "I'm In Heaven When You Smile" song on THE YOUNG ONES. So, yes: technically they had more than one song!

In reference to the Joe Dolce "Shaddap You Face" song in another thread...
Would you believe that I have the ENTIRE ALBUM which includes the song? Yep, it's true!
