Well looks like Bob Geldof is trying to relive the powerful Live-Aid concert with Live-8 concerts that will be in America and Britain. I heard some of the acts will be U2, Marron 5, Madonna, Sir Paul McCartney and lots of others. I know it's for a good cause but I doubt it will be as big as Live-Aid was. That was a great concert!

This is gonna be huge. Bigger than the original Live Aid from what I've heard so far. 5 different gigs in 5 different countries with loads of acts confirmed so far. 75000 tickets for the England show will be free for those who text and ask for them which is a great way of raising money rather than charging per ticket, they charge per text. Can you imagine how many millions of texts will be received as opposed to a flat ticket rate?
Here is the confirmed so far list:
List of confirmed acts
London - Hyde Park Mariah Carey Coldplay Dido Keane Elton John Annie Lennox Paul McCartney Muse Razorlight REM Madonna Scissor Sisters Snoop Dogg Stereophonics Sting Joss Stone Robbie Williams U2 Velvet Revolver Bob Geldof The Killers The Cure

Wow, the London show sounds great! Wish I had the money to fly across the world and go to that one!
I wonder how people that aren't going to the concerts can still help? I also wonder if they'll be putting this all out on DVD like they finally did with the original.

I read that you can go to oxfam or jump on the live 8 site and buy the white 'history against poverty'bands. The most brilliant thing about this is that Bob doesn't want money he just wants people to support it so the concerts are free - yes I said FREE (people will get tickets via a text message lottery) and he is calling for as many people who feel strongly about it to wear a white band. For those of us who remember the first live aid it is a bit of a call to arms - for those of us who don't then there is nothing like the power of the people to motivate governments world-wide to do something about world poverty - I have been to Africa and little has changed. Oooh, I came over all passionate! Sorry to sound that way - Bob's always had that effect on me! I wish so much that I had been able to go to the first live-aid concert but I would settle for A-Ha in Berlin! Or Duran-Duran in Rome! Anyway, anyone reading this should jump on the website and see what we can do to help - that's the great thing about living in a democracy - the people have a voice and if we multiply this voice by every country in the world then imagine the changes we can make. Oooh, Bob again - sorry! Just wish we had a concert in Australia!
