There was a song by a group called Saphire, it is a slow ...love song. I know I use to love the words, but I can't even think of the title to it, I am sure it was a 1 hit wonder thing. I tried to look for Saphire, and didn't find it yet, does anyone know what the name of it is??

I did try it with 2 P's first, and nothing, then I looked it up, and it can be spelled either way.
I actully came back and changed it on here immediately after I posted this thread, cause I thought I had spelled it wrong with the 2 pp's, and either way, I can't find the song.

Nope, thank you though. That isn't it, that is the one I came up with too-when I did a search. I think this was a group. It is driving me crazy too. The song sounds alot like I Miss you by Klymaxx, and that's why I can get it out of my head.
I have a 45 record of it somewhere, now I am going to have to go look all through them to see what it is, cause it will bug me now.

I think their name could also either be spelled Saffire or Safire. I am going to look for the song today.

I know this song, i think it was a hit in the USA around 87-88. I also have this on tape so if you dont find your copy ill find mine and put the song title up... I looked for this on download for MP3 and could never find any trace of it.. It was in the chart around the same time as Jimmy Harmens - Where are you now?

Yes it was....Cause when I found Where are you now...I thought that was it...but I know the title is actually really long for a song....and it is very similiar to the Jimmy Harnen song.
The song I have on tape is called I’m thinking of you. I know someone else mentioned this song on a Saphire album and you didn’t think this was it.
Maybe the words will remind you?
As sit looking out the window, I can still remember They call me to tell me you went away, it was such a cold day, Like a Sunday morning, it came without a warning I know that pain I felt inside, I just cant forget you I’m feeling so alone, so many times I tried I cant get you off my mind I’m thinking of you….. Wonder where you are tonight, wish that I could hold you tight I’m thinking of you…… I wish that you could stay, but your so far away….so far away
And even though you’re gone, I know you’re happy where you are And I know someday, will be together, together again Like a Sunday morning, it came without a warning I know that pain I felt inside I just can’t forget you I’m feeling so alone So many times I tried, just can’t get you off my mind I’m thinking of you……. Wonder where you are tonight, I wish that I could hold you tight I’m thinking of you…..

OMG! That's it!! Because now that I see the words, that is amazing...because the song Where are you now...by Jimmy Harnen- is the words I kept thinking of when I was trying to remember this song, and they said...Wonder where you are tonight...and so did he. Wow, that is cool.
Thank you so much for posting it, it was driving me crazy, now I can try and find it.

Yes, they both voices and song styles do have a very similar 'sad' sound about them.

By the way, as much as I'd like to take credit for this find. The answer was in this thread all along IS.
mamamiasweetpeaches had it from the get go...
The song is by the freestyle artist she mentioned "Sa-Fire." What threw you off IS, is this song sounds nothing like the stereotypical high energy freestyle music that's always on the radio.
Tip of the day: Don't mess with mamamia, she knows her freestyle.
