This is # 5001, I missed it by one, I wasn't paying close enough attention.
I just was listening to the song...
"Hold on to the Dream" by Irene Cara...would someone be so kind as to post the lyrics to that song, if possible. I think they are very uplifting.
I just wanna say that I have had my ups and downs on The Rewind, but there have been so many good things out of being here, that out weigh anything bad 100 to 1, so I am still grateful to be apart of the coolest group of people on the internet. I love you guys!!
I am glad to see new people like Brooke (80'sfreak)..coming on, and to see who is here all the time , is really neat. After being here a year and 1/2...it is neat to see constant new topics all the time. It does bum me that people have not gotten along and people have left. I would like to see John Kilduff return, because he did put alot in to this site and I think it is a shame when things get so far out of control that people don't stop, and take a breather, and regroup themselves. I have had to do it myself.
Anyway..I really feel like I know most of you very well, (including Noms- )....
I hope you all Hold on to your Dreams!! Mine is right here hanging in the 80's with the people I wish I would have hung out with the first time around!! Your all way cool!!
Me in 1989-the end of the 80's, I don't look so thrilled about it neither...
Me now:
Contrary to some people's beliefs...I do still find lots of stuff to still smile about in 2005!!
But ...we don't wanna go there ...let's stay in 1985!! It is more cozy!!

Here you go! Dream (Hold On To Your Dreams) by Irene Cara
I’ve been chasing dreams for so long Just one step behind and then they’re gone Illusions of love would come and go I guess you have to hurt before you grow And everybody knows Never let go of the, never let go of the dream
I always seem to lose what I thought was mine And many times I tried to leave it behind Deep inside, hope was still alive Deep inside, dreams will never die That is why we’re movin’ closer to the truth
It’s really great for me to be here I’ve won over the pain and the fear It’s been so very hard through the years Been looking through a rainbow of tears And still I never really let go of the dream
Sometimes I saw my life just falling apart And all the rejection tearing at my heart Deep inside, hope was still alive Deep inside, dreams will never die If you try there’ll be so much more for you
It’s really great for me to be here I’ve won over the pain and the fear It’s been so very hard through the years Been looking through a rainbow of tears And still I never really let go of the dream
We can all be free, we hold the key If we can see what we wanna be Life’s never easy, you get no guarantees Why not give your all and see what you can find?

Many congrats to you Isis! I thought I was doing great hitting 300 posts, yet alone 5000!
The 80's are a distant memory for me, (being so young at that time and everything) and I just love reading how personal and individual your posts are. They are so descriptive that they make me feel as though I lived the era with you... experiencing your life through words almost, as well as meeting the people in your lifetime and also to the places you have been. I guess it's almost like reading your diary/journal.
I'm already looking forward to the next 5000... just make sure you take it easy and that you don't burn out!

Thanks Toni, please don't give them any ideas about the "Grandma" idea-
Grems- thanks for what you said, that was really nice, it actually means alot to me to know that you see it the way you do, and don't think I am completely annoying-
I really did love the 80's alot, and don't see anywhere that it will change for me.
We had company here on the weekend, and they saw my Pac-Man and Frogger board game sitting here, and they never even knew those things were ever made, and thought how cool.
That's one of the reasons why I love collecting stuff, because there were so many cool things, that if someone didn't live during that time, they never would even know those things existed.
Grems, I am trying not to burn out, I don't even know how I made it this far-

5000 is an incredible amount of postings. I thought it might be interesting to research these postings and find out the breakdown:
72 postings saying hi to new people - were you one of these people?
51 postings wishing people Happy Birthday - You know you were one of these people.
87 postings about Breakin'- Togas optional
465 postings mentioning Valley Girl - Very disappointing this total should have been way higher!
1742 postings about other 80's movies - what other movies?
92 posting on the 70's board - Bionics, Cartoons, & King Kong.
59 postings on the 90's board - Though most of these were about movies from today...I guess that counts.
3 postings on the Karate Kid Board - Just to say she was there.
548 postings about 80's Music - Valley please post the lyrics to this song....how did you do that so fast?
504 postings about how great the 80's were - We can all relate to her vivid memories and then some.
623 postings defending the fact the 80's are awesome and stuff today sucks Tassh. - This number seemed low...HA!
755 posting about how great she is and don't forget it! (btw, here's pictures to prove it!)
