Do you listen any aor music? If you do, check out this swedish band Houston which i think is one of the best modern aor bands. Their music is not far away from those retrowave songs.

and so many more. Retro/Synthwave is the only modern music I listen to. Yes, there are many hacks just trying to sound like Jan Hammer, but there are a lot of unique talents and true synth masters as well, making the kind of music where you just close your eyes and let the 80's images flash by.

Yeah, I think they had a track on there. Another group worth checking out is Powerglove who did the soundtrack for the 80's inspired Far Cry 3 DLC game Blood Dragon.
