When Andrew Farriss first crossed Michael Hutchence, they were both high school students. They met when Andrew broke up a fight that Michael was involved in. The two became instant friends, and found that they shared a very strong interest in music. They soon formed a band called "The Farriss Brothers". Within a couple of years, they refined their sound and changed their name to INXS.
Though INXS became well-known around the world, it was not until 1985's Listen Like Thieves LP featuring their first US Top 10 single, "What You Need" that they actually gave us a glimpse into their future.
1987 saw INXS explode into one of the most famous bands in the world. "Kick" sold 10 million copies worldwide and still stands today as one of the most famous albums of all time. "Need You Tonight", "Devil Inside", "New Sensation", and "Never Tear Us Apart" we all on this album." ...WOW!
Michael Hutchence was an incredible lead singer and his untimely death was truly what I consider the end of INXS.
So I have two questions for you..
1. What are your top 5 favorite INXS tunes?
2. Do you think INXS would still be a top band today if Michael Hutchence was still the lead singer?

Yes, I think INXS would still be one of the top 80s bands hanging around today if M.H. was still at the helm. Similar to how well Depeche and U2 are doing today. Still touring and selling a lot of tickets.
Top 5:
1. Kiss The Dirt 2. Never Tear Us Apart 3. Don't Change 4. By My Side 5. Burn For You 6. Disappear

They would still be a good group if MH had lived. Sadly I never went to go see them here on their Elegantly Wasted tour.
1. Original Sin 2. What you need 3. Don't Change 4. Kiss the Dirt 5. Never Tear Us Apart-in fact the entire Kick album.

I made up my own INXS greatest hits CD with all my favs...listen to it all the time. A great band. * JD Fortune (the bone head that won Rockstar INXS), is actually from my home town...would have loved to see what the band would be doing now with Michael still alive.

Big fan of INXS. I remember rocking to their music in the late '80's; as was said, they were huge during that time.
1) My top 5 favorite tracks by them:
What You Need New Sensation Listen Like Thieves Mystify Need You Tonight
2.) No. I think the heyday of INXS was the '80's & '90's; though they were fading in popularity by the time MH died in '97. If MH had lived, there's a possibility the band would have continued into the 200X's, but they probably would have broken up at some point not long afterwards. I seriously doubt the band would have still been together in 2016 - even if MH hadn't died in '97.
