There actually was "What's Love Got To Do With It?" with Angela Bassett as Tina Turner.
Johnny Paycheck's "Take This Job And Shove It" song became a 1981 movie.
Although not 80's, but R.E.M.'s song "Man On The Moon", which was about comedian Andy Kaufman, later became the basis for the Jim Carrey movie of the same name.
