Glad to be of help Cindy. Yes, Whodini was a real good old school hip hop group, their Freaks come out at night was a good one too.
There's a lot of good, early Siouxsie and Cure songs that are creepy. Siouxsie's Melt is good. Try Bauhaus's Bela Lugosi's Dead too. Also try 45 Grave's Riboflavin which is more campy and goofy. B52's Devil in my Car as well. I'm going to try and dig up an old thread on this topic.

I'm pretty sure over the years we have had some good lists of Halloween songs somewhere, probably a bunch I named are on there as well.
Freaks come out at night was a great old school hip hop song (my jam), Whodini don't get their due enough because RUN DMC came out a little after and brought Hip Hop to the mainstream, so they get neglected.

80's New Wave will always be dearest to my heart, but I love the old rap era like the Wild Style/KrushGroove/Beat Street films. I even went to a Big Daddy Kane concert this year!

althought it's not 80s, the song IRREVERSIBLE (instrumental) by vhs or beta is creepy and the band has a total 80s sound (think duran duran). you can listen to the song for free HERE
also, 80s movies scores are awesome. i suggest music from christine, prince of darkness, halloween 2, etc.
i also love who can it be now, by men at work. not a scary song, but kind of gives you that feeling of invasion, such as rockwell's somebody's watching me.
