I heard a song on the radio on the other day, and I have heard it before, but now I can't remember any of the words...except I know it said something about candlelight....and firelight...and I think Jackson Browne could have been singing it...or someone that sounds just like him, and I tried looking up song titles for him, but didn't see anything with those words in the title. If anyone can figure it out based on that bit of info, I will be grateful. Thanks.

Isis, anything you can remember about what were around those two words or what kind of style it was? I've found a fair amount of songs in a Google search but it's been tougher to nail down a Jackson Browne sound-a-like.

Wow...thanks EspecialK for looking...I know it is older, from the late 70's early 80's...How many songs did you find?? Cause I know the word Candlelight is said over and over in it for sure. It is weird when you hear a song you haven't heard in forever and you can start singing right along with it, then it goes off, and you can't remember anything. Now, it will be stuck my head now too. I was hoping when I heard it the dj would say the name of it after it played, don't you hate it when your waiting for the song title, and they don't do it until 1/2 an hour later-and by then you switched the station.

Go to www.cdnow.com and look up the band STARBUCK. They have a song from the'70s called MOONLIGHT FEELS RIGHT. You can listen to a sample of it ...that might be the song.

I've been looking all over, and to my knowledge, Jackson Browne has never done a song with the word "candlelight" in it. If he has, it wasn't a Top-40 hit.
MamamiaSweetPeaches believes it is Starbuck's "Moonlight Feels Right", from the mid-1970's. But that singer sure doesn't sound like Jackson Browne at all, and the song doesn't have the word "candlelight" on it either.

And to the rescue again, Isis, the song that you are looking for is called Cool Night by Paul Davis. The same man that sang, I go crazy and 65 love affair.
On a cool night, just let me hold you by the firelight, if it don't feel right you can go.
Sometimes knowing everything about nothing is a full time job.
We are DEVO and that is definitely the song.

I know Cool Night- I love that song...that wasn't it.
I haven't heard that song again ever since I wrote about this 11 years ago......that seems unreal to me.
